“Adrift”

Senior thesis for Ringling College of Art and Design (2015)

Project Breakdown

“Adrift” – Student Short Film  Ringling College of Art + Design

Concept: “What if we could travel into the painterly world of an imaginable and distracted boy as he struggles to finish his homework?”

Responsibilities: I was responsible for all aspects of the film.

R&D: The painterly world used many flat 2d cards that were layered in 3d space to create a painterly feel. The story changed several times in order to fully explore exactly how we wanted to showcase the child’s desire for playtime vs. study time and the internal vs external conflict of his feelings of prescription medication.

Software: Maya, Maya Render Software, Renderman PBR Beta, The Setup Machine, Zbrush, Nuke, Premiere, Audition, Photoshop

Music: Blissful Feelings – Wally Gagel, Xandy Barry (Used under Ringling’s Killer Tracks Music License, and for educational purposes only)
